Cllr. Cathy Pearcy and Cllr. Ed Bridges want residents in Gabalfa ward to be aware of rubbish collection dates for the summer.

The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team wants to remind local residents of the rubbish collection dates for the rest of the summer.

Properties in the area (which covers the streets around Whitchurch Road and the area of Mynachdy Estate south of the A48) either have wheelie bin collection or kerbside bag collections, depending on the street. Residents are asked to put out their rubbish no later than 7am on the day of collection and no earlier than 4pm on the evening prior to collection.

  • GREEN RECYCLING BAGS are for paper, thin cardboard, cans, glass, plastic bottles

  • WHITE BIOBAGS / GREEN COMPOSTING BINS are for shredded paper, thick cardboard, garden waste

  • BLACK BAGS / BLACK BINS are for non-recyclable waste

Any resident who needs a fresh supply of green recycling bags or white biobags can request them for free from Connect-2-Cardiff on (029) 2087 2087, or can collect a supply from any library in Cardiff. Collection dates for the area will be as follows:

  • Tuesday 22nd July: black bags/bins and composting (white bags / green bins)

  • Tuesday 29th July: black bags/bins and recycling (green bags)

  • Tuesday 5th August: black bags/bins and composting (white bags / green bins)

  • Tuesday 12th August: black bags/bins and recycling (green bags)

  • Tuesday 19th August: black bags/bins and composting (white bags / green bins)

  • Wednesday 27th August: black bags/bins and recycling (green bags)

  • Tuesday 2nd September: black bags/bins and composting (white bags / green bins)

For more information, Gabalfa residents can contact Cllr. Cathy Pearcy or Cllr. Ed Bridges.
